Data Extraction
- Getting relational data, along with their relational IDs (necessary to keep them related in the new system), can be a challenging undertaking on some systems. ForceBrain.com has the tools and expertise to successfully extract your data, and keep it intact.
Data Deletion
- Refreshing a database may require clearing out all of the existing tables. The key here is to know which tables to remove, and which tables to leave alone (such as user and provisioning tables).
Data De-duplication, Cleansing & Mapping
- Preparing data for migration almost always requires careful attention to cleansing the data and preparing it to be successfully consumed by the new system. For instance, let’s say your data has the state fields spelled out, such as “California”, and the new system requires a two-digit state, such as “CA”. You will need to make this update prior to migration.
Data Migration
- Likely the most popular data service requested, data migration may include moving all data from one system to another, or migrating new data, such as leads into the system.
Data Normalizing
- In order to filter your data consistently, you need the data all in the same format, which may routinely require normalization. For instance, if you’re planning on blasting a marketing campaign to contacts with title “CEO”, yet some are spelled out “Chief Executive Officer”, you will need to normalize your data all to the same format.
Data Enrichment
- Most databases are missing a lot of critical informatio, such as accurate mailing addresses, phone numbers, parent companies and affiliations, etc… Our Data Enrichment services enrich your data by filling in the blanks, based on Dunn & Bradstreet’s source database that is considered the standard.
Preventative: Data Integrity Solutions
- Once your data has been cleansed, ForceBrain.com deploys a number of customizations to keep your data clean. Our solutions include deploying APEX triggers and custom validation rules to confine data to agreed upon standards.
Example Data Cleansing Timeline:
- Day 1 – ForceBrain.com acquires and aggregates data, potentially utilizing the Salesforce API. (3-6 hrs per 100,000 records)
- Day 2 – ForceBrain.com presents the 1st de-duped & normalized set of data for review.
- Day 3 – ForceBrain.com presents the 2nd de-duped & normalized set of data for review.
- Day 4 – If necessary, ForceBrain.com presents the 3rd de-duped & normalized set of data for review.
- Day 5 – ForceBrain.com performs a migration test w/ roughly 500 records. This requires client’s IT department to backup the Salesforce.com data immediately prior.
- Day 6 – ForceBrain.com performs the complete Merge/Update of potentially 2/3 surviving records. (3-6 hrs per 100,000 records). This requires the client’s IT department to (a) backup the Salesforce.com data immediately prior, and (b) monitor the API limits.
